Friendships are just as important as romantic relationships. It is so easy to forget to nurture those relationships with the same love and care. It's important to have people you can just "be" with, no extra effort, no drama, just a good time. Life is both busy and crazy and while we find time to be the best employee, entrepreneur, mom, and spouse, we can sometime forget to check-in with our other soulmates. It happens to the best of us, we get consumed with day to day responsibilities that we neglect our circle of people who help you remember who you are.
My favorite thing to do is date my friends, we have dinner at the best restaurants, we party, I get to put my shit on, do my makeup, and I always know I'll leave with either a fire photo or a night full of laughs. Lately my priorities have shifted and I am realizing more than ever, I need that time away. The saying you can not pour from an empty cup is very true, you cant be your best self if you are drained, my friends always remind me that I am the sh*t, they offer to babysit, they check on me, they listen to me complain, and they do not mind adjusting girls night to accommodate my little plus one. So next time you hang out with the girls make sure you make it an entire experience.
