2. Closet Clean Out - Sunday's Gem encourages clients and potential clients to save. If you're in need of locating a specific item but is on a budget we'll help you. We'll recommend that you sell some of your items for extra cash or utilize those hidden gems within your own closet.
3. Insta-Finds - If you're a frequent Instagrammer then you'll be able to utilize this service and save big bucks even faster. Sunday's Gem will continue to post designer items that are heavily discounted on our Instagram. One of these items may have been a gem you've been searching for. MH: Describe the process of locating items for each client?
SF: Each client is required to complete an online form before booking any services. The information collected highlights the client’s style, personality, budget and more. This will help us to locate each item for the client’s wardrobe with ease. After using many sources, items are typically purchased based on its location, price, and the clients desire to acquire it. Since prices are constantly fluctuating we advise shoppers to purchase during a particular season. The most important tool to have during this process is patience.
MH: Have you ever shopped for yourself while shopping for a client?
SF: While hunting for a client’s gem I'll snag an item or two for myself. The price has to be at an all-time low but yet hold true value in its industry. Some of my most prized items have been found on platforms like Ebay. Most sellers aren't knowledgeable about the products they're selling which is an open door to make an offer. I’ll start by offering the lowest amount in order to obtain the item. If all fails the seller and I will agree on a counteroffer that is a win for both parties.
MH: Has there ever been an item you have not been able to locate?
SF: Due to the expansion of the internet, Sunday's Gem has been able to locate items faster than ever. From contacting sales associates, buyers, and e-boutiques there is no such thing as not being able to find an item. If Sunday's Gem is unable to pinpoint your product that is fully based on the client's initial requirements or a high sales price. Our rule of thumb: purchasing past season items should be between 75%-90% off and 50%-70% off prices when buying in-season products.
MH: What are five items every woman should have in their closet?
SF: No matter the style, every woman needs some key pieces in their wardrobe. My top five would include an investment bag, leather jacket, black dress, tailored blazer, and a pair of black pumps. These items will serve as your staple pieces throughout each season. You can utilize similar items in your closet before identifying your top 5 pieces. But, be sure that the quality of your most prized items are top-notch because longevity is vital.
MH: Do you have any advice for when it comes to shopping for designer items?
SF: Quality is a widely respected element in the fashion industry. So, it requires knowledge, patience, and individuality.
