So if you're into music, fashion, or just feel like crossing something off you bucket list, I am sure attending Coachella has crossed your mind. Every second and third week of April, I would look at instagram post and videos of celebs decked out in festival fashions, prancing around half naked and thought to myself "Next year I'm going to Coachella". So when Beyoncé and I both got knocked up around the same time and she had to postpone her performance, I knew it was a sign.
The first thing on your list after you buy tickets should be finding a place to stay! Places book fast, so make sure you start looking early. Even though people assume Indio and Palm Springs are the same place, they are actually about 20 mins away from each other. If you do not like over 90 degree weather stay home, it gets HOT!! Oh and if you hate crowds stay home, the night Beyoncé performed it was over a 150,000 people.
Pit stop: If you're going with a group of people make sure you go to the market or a Super Walmart stock up on some snacks or food if you plan on cooking and water.
Dress comfortably: Now comfortable does not mean frumpy, when I say comfort I mean comfortable shoes basically. You will be walking a lot, especially if you do not have a VIP pass. The walk from the parking lot to the venue is at least 15 mins and if you add the thousands of people leaving the same time as you after the main act it can take an hour. I learned my lesson after Beyoncé, I was so hot and delirious I felt like I could pass out, which people were doing on. I think the amount of people trying to get out at the same time made it feel even hotter.
Travel buddies: No matter where you are going always go with people you know you'll have fun with. The great thing about going with a group is you can go your separate ways and not feel bad. Just make sure you have a meeting point.
No drinking allowed: There are designated places to drink and they only have beer, but I mean who wants to drink in scorching temperatures. If you do want to drink maybe plan to go to the festival later and pre-game while lounging at the pool.
You won't get to see everyone: The thing about large music festivals is that there are multiple shows going on at once. You may not be able to see everyone you want because they come in at the same time and the stages are spread out. All of the headliners perform on the Coachella Stage.
Memories: I know it's cool to say you want to enjoy the moment, but a couple pictures won't hurt. You want to show your kids that their parents were cool once upon a time. More than likely you won't be able to post them anyway because the service sucks. You are allowed to bring cameras without detachable lenses.
Would I go again? Sure! With the right line up and VIP tickets sure, it's a great experience. I definitely think everyone should go to a largemusic festival at least once.
