The truth about eyelash Extensions

Everyone has their thing, some women can't leave the house without their lipstick, some without makeup, my thing is lash extensions. I have to admit I get a little satisfaction every time someone whispers.... "you have gorgeous lashes".  I would like to think I am a walking recruiter, I am always telling someone they should try them at least once and see what a difference they make. I don't have to spend extra time applying makeup in the morning, not to mention saving money on countless mascaras to make my lashes appear longer.  After two years of getting eyelash extensions, I have absolutely no complaints and happy to announce that yes my natural lashes still grow. When done correctly and by a trained certified eyelash tech, lash extensions are safe and definitely worth the money. Everyone always asks me questions about the maintenance, how long they last, and if they damage your real lashes, so today I am answering all of your questions and sharing what happens when you get eyelash extensions.

The first appointment is always the most expensive
Expect the first appointment to be the most expensive, since you will be getting a full set. The price varies depending on who you go to. After the initial appointment the price drops, you will need to get a fill in every 2-4 weeks, but the better you take care of your lash extensions the longer they will last.

Once you open your eyes there may or may not be a burning sensation for 30 secs max
This may not be the case for everyone, but I have sensitive eyes so sometimes my eyes may tingle a little from the glue and sometimes I am perfectly fine. Your lash tech will place a fan over your eyes to stop the irritation. Most places also offer certain types of glue for people with more sensitive eyes or skin and for those with certain allergies.

You always look like you have some type of makeup
One of my favorite things about getting eyelash extensions is that I always look awake and I can just get up and go if I am in a rush and do not have the time to apply makeup.

Do not pull on your lashes
This is a very important rule, people complain and say that false lashes or lash extensions caused their natural lashes to fall out, but it really comes from people tugging on the lash extensions. The eyelashes are held on by an adhesive glue that is placed on each individual lash, so when you constantly pull them you are not only pulling your extension out but your natural lash as well.

They come in different lengths and shapes
Your eyelash tech will ask you a series of questions such as how long you want them, do you want a more natural appearance, as well as look at your eye shape to determine what type of curl will work best for you. Each visit is custom to the individual.

Yes you can wear eye makeup
Yes, you can still put on eyeshadow and eyeliner while having eyelash extensions. My only suggestion is removing your eye makeup with a makeup remover or wipe that does not contain oil in it. I also suggest using eyeliner that is not waterproof as it is harder to get off and takes some rubbing.
