The treatment helps improve fine lines, hyperpigmentation, damage caused by the sun, age spots, blackheads, enlarged pores, helps hydrate skin, improve the texture of your skin, gives you an even complexion, and improve acne scars. The first thing my facialist asked me is if I was allergic to anything, then she went on to give me an organic facial and a microdermabrasion treatment. When she applied the peel it felt a little hot, not unbearable just warm and tingly (depending on the strength of the peel). Once she finished one side she worked on the other side, then she applied a neutralizer and other stuff that I can't remember. After the treatment, she gave me a list of things to look out for and things to avoid.
Day One:
Moisturize, Moisturize, and Moisturize some more. Your skin won't feel too bad, but it will be sensitive and you should wear sunscreen. You are free to wear makeup if you must, but your skin will be a little red, so I personally just avoid makeup.
Day Two:
My face did not start peeling yet, but it was very dry so I had to moisturize about 2x more. Everyone is different so this may be the day you began to peel.
Day Three and Day Four:
This is my UGLY day, my face starts to peel badly. I used my free time to pick off the dry skin, which is actually pretty calming and satisfying. I exfoliated with a light scrub and used my Mario Badescu facial spray to help soothe my skin.
Day Five:
By the time day five comes, my skin looks and feels a whole lot better. My face is brighter and my complexion is almost completely even. Once all the peeling is complete you can continue using your normal facial products. The Verdict: Well I have gotten a few more since then, so I guess it's safe to say I liked it. My goal is to go at least 4 times a year, if my schedule and bank account permit. I personally think everyone should try a chemical peel at least once, just make sure you visit a reputable spa or office, read their reviews, and ask questions before hand.
